The effects of AI-driven and AI-enhanced technologies are showing up in every corner of the modern economy. Many business leaders are intrigued by the ways that AI could help their organizations evolve, but when it comes to navigating practical considerations like equipping a team with AI-ready computers, it can be hard to know where to start. Performance and business-level security features are a must, but some high-performance systems in the past have required tradeoffs like lower battery life and reduced user comfort. With the latest breakthroughs in laptop and processor technology, those tradeoffs are no longer necessary. For instance, by upgrading older Dell Latitude laptops to the latest generation of Dell Latitude AI PCs, users can get the performance boost they need to power through intense AI and traditional workloads—without sacrificing user comfort—along with improved battery life and security features.

To demonstrate the potential benefits of upgrading to the latest generation of Dell Latitude AI PCs, we compared the performance, user experience, and features of the new Intel Core Ultra-powered Dell Latitude 7450 and 5450 AI PCs to three-year-old versions of the same laptops. For both sets of laptops, we used a variety of industry-leading benchmarks to compare standard and AI-related system performance. We also ran battery-life benchmarks to gauge the type of battery life that users could expect in office productivity and video-conferencing scenarios. To assess potential differences in user comfort, we conducted thermal and acoustic testing. Finally, we took stock of each system’s built-in business-level security features.

In both sets of comparisons, we found that the Dell Latitude 7450 and 5450 AI PCs produced higher AI and standard benchmark scores and provided longer battery life in all our scenarios—without generating excessive heat or noise. The new Latitude systems also included stronger built-in security than their older predecessors. Our results show that by upgrading to the latest generation Dell Latitude 7450 and 5450 AI PCs powered by Intel Core Ultra processors, businesses can give their employees advantages in system performance, efficiency, and user experience that could boost productivity for years to come.
